Author Spotlight: Merri Halma

merri.pngMerri Halma grew up in Sunnyside, Washington, a small agriculture town in Central Washington State. Due to a speech impediment, Merri didn’t speak much but always had an active imagination.  She began writing at age 11, putting her active imagination to use. She dreamed of being published and being a widely acclaimed author. She is still working hard to reach those goals.

In an interview with her, she describes a childhood memory:

I grew up on Harrison Hill in Sunnyside, Washington. A gravel pit was across the street from our house. It always reminded me of a miniature Grand Canyon (I wish I had a photo of it).
